On October 23, 2025, teachers from the Cybersecurity Department at Kharkiv National University took part in an online meeting with British professor Tim D Williams on the topic of \"Standards and resources for developing a cybersecurity curriculum in Ukraine,\" organized by the National Academy of Internal Affairs and the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Psychology in accordance with the order of the Minister of Internal Affairs and with the support of Indi.Vision.<\/p>\n\n\n

Speaker Tim D Williams holds numerous titles \u2013 BSc, MSc, MBA, PGCHE, CELTA, FBCS CITP, GMBPsS, MCIIS, MIEEE, MIET, TOGAF, CISSP-ISSAP-ISSEP-ISSMP, CSSLP, CGRC, ITIL (F), GDPR (P). He is a practicing trainer in security architecture, engineering, and management, a cybersecurity trainer at the BBC Academy, and a former head of the cybersecurity course at the University of Birmingham. Tim assists Ukraine and cooperates with the Ukrainian government on cybersecurity issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting took place as part of a program aimed at helping Ukrainian educational institutions develop academic disciplines related to cybersecurity.<\/p>\n\n\n

Dr. Tim D. Williams' presentation focused on standards and resources for developing a cybersecurity curriculum in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n

During the meeting, four types of open publications related to the development of a cybersecurity curriculum were presented and critically compared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Originating in the UK, as exemplified by NCSC, CyBoK, CyberEssentials, UKCSC, SFIA<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Originating in the US, based on examples from NIST, CISA, NICE, MITRE<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Originating from the EU, as exemplified by ENISA, ECSF, ESCO, and e-CF<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 International professional certification organizations, such as ISC2, ISACA, SANS, EC-Council<\/p>\n\n\n

The second part of the meeting focused on best practices in cybersecurity education and professional skills development.<\/p>\n\n\n

Following the meeting, the Department of Cybersecurity held an open methodological seminar to discuss the prospects for introducing innovative approaches and best practices into bachelor's and master's degree programs in higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
