Webinar "Network Monitoring"

On October 15, lecturers from the Department of Cybersecurity, Y.P. Klots, N.S. Petliak, M.V. Stetsiuk, and S.V. Mostovoyi, took part in the webinar "Network Monitoring," which was held as part of the series "Monitoring as a Strategic Asset for IT Managers." The event was organized by Softprom, the official distributor of leading IT solutions for infrastructure monitoring and optimization.

The webinar speaker was Kateryna Gulbytska, a certified monitoring systems specialist and expert in implementing complex IT solutions. She presented a modern approach to network monitoring using the Riverbed platform as an example, which allows IT departments to monitor the entire infrastructure, from application performance to network connection status, in a single integrated environment.

During the webinar, participants learned about:

  • principles of correlating data from different sources to quickly find the causes of incidents;
  • approaches to monitoring cloud services, VPN connections, and hybrid infrastructures;
  • Riverbed platform capabilities for measuring user application performance (Application Performance Monitoring);
  • real-life cases of implementing monitoring systems in corporate networks across various industries.

The lecturers noted the high level of organization of the event, the relevance of the information presented, and the practical value of the tools that can be used in the educational process to train future IT specialists. The webinar was another step in improving the digital competence of teachers and will contribute to the improvement of educational programs in the fields of computer networks, information systems, and IT management.
