On October 22, 2026, a workshop titled “Digital Security and Legal Capacity of Women Leaders in Khmelnytskyi Oblast” was held in Khmelnytskyi, organized as part of the project “Safe Space 1325: Cyber Protection and Legal Capacity of Women Leaders in Khmelnytskyi Oblast.”
The project was launched with the support of the Ukrainian Women’s Fund. Its goal is to promote the implementation of the Regional Action Plan 1325 for 2026–2030. The project is being implemented by the women’s civil society organizations “Ukrainian Renovation” and “Svoia.”
Nataliia PETLIAK, an associate professor in the Department of Cybersecurity, participated in the event. She delivered opening remarks, outlined the workshop’s goals and objectives, and emphasized the importance of digital security for civil society organizations, community leaders, and everyone who works with information and personal data.

During the workshop, the participants discussed:
- legal aspects of digital security and personal data protection;
- ways to minimize digital risks;
- cybersecurity best practices for civil society organizations;
- action plans and response mechanisms for cyber threats.
Digital security is a crucial component of civil society organizations’ ability to operate effectively, protect information, and maintain secure communication. Combining legal knowledge with practical cybersecurity practices helps organizations better identify digital threats, mitigate risks, and determine the appropriate course of action in the event of an incident.
The participation of representatives from Khmelnytskyi National University in such educational initiatives helps spread knowledge about cybersecurity and foster a culture of responsible use of digital technologies in communities.
The project is being implemented as part of the “Women. Peace. Security: From Local to Global” initiative, with support from the Government of Canada through the Ukrainian Women’s Fund.
