Head of the Department Yuriy KLYOTS and Associate Professor Natalia PETLYAK attended the international Certified SOC Analyst (CSA) course from EC-Council with the support of Security Expert Group.
The Certified SOC Analyst (CSA) course is aimed at developing practical skills for working in a cybersecurity center and preparing for obtaining the international EC-Council certification, which is recognized by employers in many countries.
As part of the course, students learned:
- Detection and analysis of cyber threats: monitoring security events, classifying incidents, working with real attack scenarios.
- SOC tools: practical use of SIEM systems, EDR solutions, and Threat Intelligence platforms.
- Log analysis: interpreting event logs to identify anomalies and signs of compromise.
- Incident response: basic procedures for responding to and minimizing the consequences of cyber incidents.
- Building and operating a SOC: architecture, processes, and roles at the center of security operations.
The training combined theoretical training with practical tasks, which allowed the trainees to gain an idea of the real working conditions of a SOC analyst.
