Participation in the Erasmus+ summer school module Jean Monnet “European experience for increasing the resilience of critical facilities in Ukraine”

In the period from July 22 to August 8, 2024, the teachers of the department, Associate Professor Ihor Mulyar and Assistant Professor Nataliia Petliak, took part in the Erasmus+ summer school module Jean Monnet “European Experience for Improving the Resilience of Critical Facilities in Ukraine”.

The teachers were trained in three courses:

1) “EU best practices for responding to incidents at critical infrastructure facilities”

2) EU Framework on Risk Management for Critical Infrastructure

3) “EU experience in protecting Ukraine's critical infrastructure”

The first course provided an introduction to EU policy, strategy and practice, and demonstrated strategies and practical applications for responding to incidents at critical infrastructure facilities.

The purpose of the second course was to study the basics, methodologies and methods of the EU, communication tools for identifying, analyzing, responding to and controlling internal and external risks with recommendations to CI operators on reducing risks and vulnerabilities.

The third course involved the study of practical EU scenarios for the protection of critical infrastructure, which allow for the resilience of critical facilities providing essential services in Ukraine.

The speakers of the event were:

  • Maryna Yevdokimenko, PhD, Professor at the Popovsky Department of ICI, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (KNURE);
  • Oleksandr Lemeshko, Head of the Popovsky Department of the Institute of Chemical Engineering, KNURE;
  • Oleksandra Yeremenko, PhD, professor at the Popovsky Department of I&CI, KNURE;
  • Arkadii Snigurov, PhD, Associate Professor of the Popovsky Department of I&C at KNURE;
  • Yanina Roy, PhD, Head of the Department for Implementation and Control of Information Security Processes at NPC Ukrenergo.

During the training, I managed to gain not only theoretical knowledge but also powerful practical cases.
