On August 31, a festive event took place – the initiation of first-year students into the student body of Khmelnytsky National University. More than 1,700 first-year students joined our friendly university family this year. Being a student at Khmelnytsky National University is a responsibility and an honor. Our student community has always been distinguished by its high academic, educational, artistic, and athletic achievements, volunteer and environmental initiatives, broad social interests, and active civic stance. The university operates on the principles of academic integrity.
Today, our defenders are defending our right to live and learn with weapons in their hands. All those present honored the memory of the heroes with the Ukrainian anthem, a minute of silence, and the laying of flowers at the memorial sign “Glory to the Heroes” and expressed their sincere gratitude to the defenders, among whom are our students and graduates, to all those who fought for the freedom and independence of the Ukrainian people.
Following a good tradition, before the start of the new academic year, Serhii Matyukh, Rector of Khmelnytskyi National University, addressed the first-year students with a welcoming speech. He called on the students to make every effort and use their time at university as productively as possible – to take advantage of the university's resources, international connections, the Erasmus+ project, and the Horizon program, to get involved in arts and sports, to develop, improve, and shape our future.
Tetyana Govorushchenko, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technologies, also congratulated the first-year students on this important event in their lives, spoke about the university's achievements, the current challenges facing Ukrainian education, and the implementation of our educational institution's ideas.
Musical greetings to the first-year students were presented by artists from the Center for Culture and Aesthetic Education of Students: the student rock band “Stаinless,” winner of numerous festivals and competitions, the folk dance ensemble “Yunist Podillya,” the folk song theater “Suzirya” (soloists - Victoria Shara and Andriy Trembovetskyi), and the artist of the theater-studio “Paradise” Victoria Oreshnyuk.
We sincerely congratulate our students and begin another incredible and successful academic year together! We wish all first-year students inspiration and perseverance, and may mutual respect, honesty, mutual assistance, and strong friendship be the key to success! May your student life be bright, unforgettable, and filled with victories.
