Meeting of partner universities on improving educational programs in the field of F5 Cybersecurity and Information Protection

November 14, 2025 as part of the implementation of an international cybersecurity education project SOC-Analyst – Pilot Program for Enhancing Cybersecurity Skills Gaps in Ukraine a meeting was held between representatives of the universities participating in the project, namely representatives of Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University, Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, and Khmelnytsky National University. The reason for the meeting was the participation of students from these universities in the final CTF competitions of the project, Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, and Khmelnytsky National University. From the side Zhytomyr Polytechnic the meeting was attended by the vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work. Andriy Shpakov, Head of the Department of Cybersecurity and Computer Engineering Maksym DelembovskyiKhmelnytsky National University was represented by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work. Victor Lopatovsky, Head of the Department of Cybersecurity Yurii Klots, Senior Lecturer, Department of Cybersecurity Nataliia Petliak.

University representatives, together with the rector Zhytomyr Polytechnic Віктором Євдокимовим joined in opening the competition «University Cyber League: Final Flame 2025». In the future, experts Zhytomyr Polytechnic They gave the guests a tour of the university, introduced them to the university's material resources, as well as the laboratories of the Faculty of Information and Computer Technologies and the Faculty of Computer-Integrated Technologies, Mechatronics and Robotics. The guests were particularly interested in the laboratories of the Department of Computer Engineering and Cybersecurity, as well as the laboratories of other departments, which are used to train students in the specialties F5 “Cybersecurity and Information Protection” and F7 “Computer Engineering.”

After the tour, a strategic discussion took place. «Cyber Education Future Talk», initiated by Kira Lebedenko, director of the competition organizer – the company Security Expert Group. During the discussion, the prospects for the development of university educational programs, opportunities for representatives of Ukrainian and European cybersecurity companies and projects to join their implementation, as well as opportunities for introducing professional certification programs, new cybersecurity solutions, etc. into educational programs were discussed. Separately, ways of implementing the educational discipline in universities were discussed. SOC-Analyst, developed as part of the project SOC-Analyst – Pilot Program for Enhancing Cybersecurity Skills Gaps in Ukraine.

It should be noted that both the meeting in general and the results of the discussion in particular were very important for all universities, since all its participants-teachers are directly involved in the processes of implementing and updating educational programs in the specialty F5 “Cybersecurity and Information Protection” either as guarantors or members of the working group.

Project SOC-Analyst not yet completed – students will study the SOC Analyst course, while teachers will prepare for international SOC Analyst professional certification.
