As part of the development of cyber education and support for women in the field of information security, on 22 January 2026, the She Defends: Cyber & OSINT event was held, aimed at developing practical skills in the field of cybersecurity and digital intelligence.
The goal of the event was to raise awareness and practical training among female students in the areas of cyber defence, OSINT analysis, and cyber incident response, as well as to create a safe educational environment for the professional development of women in technical fields.
Students from various specialties took part in the event, with nearly 150 people joining to form 25 teams. Kharkiv National University was represented at the tournament by one team, which included students from the bachelor's programme in Cybersecurity and Information Protection. The format of the event included a combination of introductory lectures and a practical part in the Capture The Flag (CTF) format.
The @518&imposter team took 12th place in the final ranking. The She Defends: Cyber & OSINT event contributed to the development of practical skills, teamwork and professional motivation among the participants, and also highlighted the importance of involving women in strengthening cyber resilience and information security in Ukraine.
