Department of Cybersecurity of Computer Systems and Networks is a participant in the USAID project “Cybersecurity of Ukraine's Critical Infrastructure”

On March 30, 2021, a ceremony was held to launch the educational component of the USAID project “Cybersecurity of Ukraine's Critical Infrastructure” and announce the universities that were selected for the program.

As part of the USAID Cybersecurity Activity project, Khmelnytsky National University received an award for participation in the USAID project “Cybersecurity of Ukraine's Critical Infrastructure”!

Участь в проекті дозволить покращити теоретичну та практичну складові підготовки фахівців з кібербезпеки. Також проект передбачає навчання викладачів кафедри кібербезпеки та комп’ютерних систем і мереж в провідних навчальних закладах США.

USAID Cybersecurity Activity is a program that improves cybersecurity education in higher education. This is a 4-year USAID program aimed at strengthening the resilience of Ukraine's critical infrastructure to cyberattacks by establishing cooperation between the government, private sector, academia, and civil society organizations. The project is being implemented with the support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The participants of the ceremony were addressed with speeches:

Susan Kutor is the Deputy Director of the U.S. Agency for International Development's Mission to Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova.

Artur Seletskyi is Deputy Minister of Education and Science for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalization.

Timothy Dubel is the project manager of the USAID project “Cybersecurity of Ukraine's Critical Infrastructure”.

Oleksandr Potiy is Deputy Head of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine.

Khmelnytsky National University was represented by Vice-Rector for Research and Development S.A. Matiukh and Head of the Department of CBCM Y.P. Klots.

The partners of Khmelnytsky National University in the project are Western Ukrainian National University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, National University of Lviv Polytechnic, National Technical University of Dnipro Polytechnic, National University of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic, Kharkiv National University of Economics.

Each selected higher education institution will be provided access to cloud-based cyber training grounds, allowing teachers to monitor and evaluate their students' practical skills in protecting various networks from cyber threats. The experience and best practices of the project participants will be disseminated among Ukrainian higher education institutions to improve the quality of training in the speciality 125 Cybersecurity.
