The KhNU team took third place at the Cybersecurity Universiade and advanced to the final

On October 24, 2026, the "518&imposter" team from Khmelnytskyi National University secured third place at the all-Ukrainian student cybersecurity competition, Cyber Security Universiade (Second Edition). Our students scored 1500 points, placing among the top three out of 86 teams.

The university was represented by Volodymyr Oliinyk, Denys Stadnik, Mykola Kostiuk, Oleksandr Lavreniuk, and Rastislav Tovt.

In total, 382 participants from 19 regions of Ukraine took part in the competition. The event was held online in a Jeopardy-style CTF format on the Ukrainian cyber range, Cyber Range UA, with support from the Unit Range team. Over the course of five hours, students solved practical cybersecurity challenges, applying their technical knowledge, analytical skills, and ability to work collaboratively. The competitive environment simulated a university network infrastructure, complete with web services, internal servers, and workstations.

The competition was organized by the National Aviation University and the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center under the NSDC of Ukraine, in collaboration with CRDF Global in Ukraine and technology partner Cyber Unit Technologies.

The top twenty teams from this stage received invitations to the Universiade offline final, scheduled for the spring of 2027. There, they will compete for the title of the strongest student cybersecurity team among Ukrainian higher education institutions.

Congratulations to our participants! We wish you successful preparation, confidence in your own abilities, and victory in the final!
