On November 28, the USAID Project “Cybersecurity of Ukraine's Critical Infrastructure” held an exciting webinar for cybersecurity students on “Ethical Hunting for Unethical Hackers.” This webinar was distinguished by the speaker's personality and the non-standard form of presenting the topic through active communication between the lecturer and the participants.
So, yesterday, Nikita Knysh, a well-known ethical hacker and founder of the community of Ukrainian hacker-activists HackYourMom, shared information about the world of hackers with the participants and listeners of the webinar. Communicating with the students, our speaker showed the difference between ethical and unethical hackers, helped them to understand the documents that regulate their activities, defined violations in the virtual world and rules of moral behaviour, and shared his own opinion on the peculiarities of this regulation in the context of active cyber warfare. During the event, the following issues were discussed
various hacker groups,
ways to find their roots,
performance indicators and their impact on society,
peculiarities of the activities of Ukrainian hacker groups.
“Your safety comes first,” Mykyty emphasized at the end of the webinar, explaining the importance of personal security for working in a hacker environment and sharing methods to help track down a hacker. In conclusion, he also advised the participants on certifications that can become a reliable key to the world of cybersecurity and answered the traditional questions of the webinar attendees.
