Webinar: “A manager's view of cybersecurity audit: managing a team, roles, processes”

On February 27, students and professors of the Department of Cybersecurity joined a webinar on “A Manager's View of Cybersecurity Audit: Managing a Team, Roles, and Processes.”

The speaker of the meeting was Anastasia Gorodianova, Senior Cybersecurity Consultant at 10Guards, who told the audience about the main elements of cybersecurity audits and helped them understand this area in more detail.

During the webinar, the participants of the event:

  • expanded their knowledge of cybersecurity audit standards;
  • learned about the specifics of the managerial approach to working with the team and clients;
  • saw the difference between reports for the technical team and reports focused on business goals.

Anastasiia covered the process of conducting a cybersecurity audit in detail, revealing its components, the importance of the team's functionality, and the necessary set of skills and knowledge to successfully complete the tasks. In addition, she presented real-life examples of cybersecurity audits based on different types of companies and markets.

The speaker also discussed professional challenges on the way to development in this area and provided advice on starting a career in cybersecurity audit, the necessary knowledge and certificates for successful entry into the labour market, and emphasized the importance of not only a university program but also continuous deepening of knowledge in the chosen field, certification programs and learning English.
