On March 19, 2024, teachers of the Department of Cybersecurity of KhNU took part in the webinar “Presentation of the CTF platform for competitions and training”, organized by the V.V. Popovsky Department of Infocommunication Engineering of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics.
The webinar is part of the activities aimed at promoting the regional cybersecurity laboratory established with the support of the USAID Cybersecurity Project at the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics.
The event was moderated by Maryna Yevdokymenko, PhD, Professor of the Department of Infocommunication Engineering.
Roman Kapusta and Volodymyr Porokhnyak spoke about a unique tool for learning theory through solving practical cybersecurity cases and holding competitions, and presented the capabilities of the CYBER ICE BOX CTF platform.
The purpose of the platform is to provide university students from all regions of Ukraine with the opportunity to gain practical experience in finding, identifying and analyzing various vulnerabilities, which is an important skill for a cybersecurity specialist. With the help of their own knowledge and simulated cyberattacks, users of the platform are able to go through simulated cybersecurity situations that arise in a practical environment while working in the field of information security. In addition, all users have the opportunity to communicate with cybersecurity experts and gain valuable teamwork experience.
The staff of the Department of Cyber Security of KhNU thanks the organizers of the webinar and the USAID Project and joins the team for testing and implementing the CTF platform.
